Strange Sequence, Multiple Views

All the world is white.

The relevant pair will be playing a 2/1 GF system, with aggressive preempts. 2 is not available for a weak two, but 3 can be opened with a six-card suit. One-level openings are aggressive as well, when distributional. For example, KQxxxx-x-A10x-xxx was opened 1 in first seat and thought to be "slightly" weak -- needed the spade Jack or 109 to be a good opening. 5431 10-counts with nice body often opened.

We are focusing on second seat.

Advancer's options are limited at this point. 2♠, 2NT, 3♣, 3♠, and X would all support spades in some way. 3 presumably would be natural, although this is not clear by a passed hand. 3+ would undoubtedly also support spades. However, as an aside, this scheme is not 100% clear and is not necessarily suggested herein to be ideal -- just what probably is meant.

P-3?

First, what is 3?

In answering, feel free to discuss what you may have agreed with partner, in this auction, as the meanings of 2NT, 3, 3, 3, and 3. You could also state what these bids should mean in an ideal system. Thus:

1. What's your guess?

2. What's "standard?"

3. What's your agreement, if any?

4. What do you think is ideal in theory?

As one further note, this situation resulted in an interesting discussion. It seems reasonable to have this auction mean one thing at MPs and another at IMPs, perhaps because of IMP/MP theory default agreements in the event of an undiscussed sequence.

Ken, your world is just too complicated for me.

P P 1C 1S

2H P P 2S

P 3C

shows lots of clubs, unsuitable for a second seat pre-empt, strong desire not to play in spades.

Ken, your world is just too complicated for me.

I do not have different IMP/MP default agreements (although the calls I make within existing agreements are obviously affected by the form of scoring)
