Show where you live?

My first instinct was 4. The big arguments for Double are that partner can pass (probably good) or bid 3NT (very good!). However, I think that we still get to many good 4H's over 4D and 4D shows our suit and strength.

Ugh, maybe double is better but I'll stick with 4D for now.

BTW my second choice on this is 3NT overcall, which shows what I think of 4 (sorry Han). I like non-leaping michaels here since I find I never want to overcall 4 minor anyway, it's very rare I don't prefer any of double, 3NT, pass, or 5 minor, or that I'm at least not able to live with one of those choices.

As pointed out by jdonn and The Hog, 4 would be non-leaping Michaels for me too, so that is out. I will double.

What if I did not play NLM, would I still double? Yes, 4 is unilateral, double gives more options.

At first glance this hand looks like diamonds, smells like diamonds and taste like diamonds.

But there is a second view and even without NLM this is a clear double after a seond thought.

Phew, was worried I was going crazy - I thought double was obvious, but the first five people I heard comment on the hand went with 4.

Yup.
