Cascade Posted March 12, 2008 Report Share Posted March 12, 2008 I'd love to bid 2♥ but it is simply too risky. Partner will have 8 or 9 points and no heart fit too often and have nothing to say. So we risk missing game. 2NT seems a perfectly reasonably alternative to the double and 3♥ suggested in the opening post. I will try that. So which hand do you give him? Kxx,Kx,xxx,Kxxx? He can raise, can't he? But this is about he worst hand, I can construct without a bid. (Ok, KQx,x,Qxxx,Kxxxx is bad either) With 4 or more spade, he can bid 2 Spade, with a stopper he can bid NT, with clubs clubs.... I don't want partner forcing with 3♣ with 8 hcp.
