Hanoi5
♠10xx♥AQ10x♦10xx♣Axx You're dealer and Pass (I hope). Your partner opens in third 1♠ and RHO intervenes with 2♥. What do you bid?
irdoz
Is 2nt another option?
han
When you have AQ10x pass is also an option.
karlson
Seems clear to bid 3h if you're going to support spades, since the ♥Q is upgraded and you have a couple of aces. I think this is a pretty good hand for a penalty pass though. The spade length doesn't seem like a deterrent -- you might just tap out declarer and he'll lose control. I think I would pass for sure w/r, and I'd be awfully tempted to do so at equal vul as well.
Guest Jlall
I would go for blood if they are red and 2N otherwise. In general I hate going for blood with only 4 trumps since partner will frequently pass this out with a doubleton but this one is too tempting if they're red, we will still get 200 or 300 opposite a passout when it's not clear we have a game. P_Marlowe
Hi, given the options 3H. Of couse having a way to show a in between hand, would be great, the hearts values are positioned rightand i have Acess, this should be enoughcompensation for the missing HCP andthe poor shape. Since I am a passed hand, partner wonttake 3H to serious. With kind regardsMarlowe
Gerben42
€€€ Pass €€€ It used to be dollarsigns in people's eyes, but they are not worth anything anymore...
Fluffy
€€€ Pass €€€ It used to be dollarsigns in people's eyes, but they are not worth anything anymore... Lol, this eurothing is great when travelling, less good twhen they pay prices in dollars :). I would normally also go for the blood. 3NT is another option. 2NT/3♥ is the normal bid, 2♠ is a big underbid IMO after the overcall. joker_gib
Agree with Justin, pass if they're red, 2NT if not

TylerE
Comfortable pass for me. Hope p knows how to balance. Playing with someone I don't trust, 2NT.
dcvetkov
Agree with Justin, pass if they're red, 2NT if not I agree with this, but how do we go for blood? We must pass now ( Double is negative?) and partner may not necessarily balance, especially with hands with 2 small hearts and sterile 5-3-3-2 distribution. Still, even +100 score may turn out to be very good. I suspect cue of 3H, other alternative will get us too often to less then 50% game. You know that a lot of people never reject invitation;)
pclayton
I'll take the +500 option, thanks.
keylime
Ditto the well-reasoned Phil. I want to hurt them badly.
lexlogan
As others have indicated, I'd consider penalties or 2NT. It's good bridge to support partner, but this hand is more penalty or notrump-oriented.

Justin already commented that pass won't guarantee playing 2H doubled but when they are red that isn't a big problem.
Cascade
We are very aggressive negative doublers on this sort of auction. The consequence of this is that partner will not balance on many hands with short hearts and a minimum. This hand has too much potential to pass - we can miss a game. Therefore I will bid 2NT. So why is 2♠ an underbid. 4333 shape and 10hcp and not knowing if pd opened light or sound--Who wants to bid anything other than 2♠ now? Pass is another good option and probably better than 2♠ since you dont even know if he opened with 4 or 5♠. I am sure 2way drury guys know what i am talking about.
