flytoox
Anybody knows this system? I am learning it and have a few question abou it. 1) 1D-1N 2H/S Does 2H or 2S show maximum, i.e., 15-16HCP? 2) 1D-1S 3C Their notes says 3c shows 3card spt. Does it mean 1S guarantees 5card? Thx in advance. fly

As a result, a 1S response to a 1D opening tends to suggest 5 cards or an unbalanced hand.

However, I dont understand why in 1D-1H/S, 1H/S shold be 5card too. Does it mean they responde 1N with 4card major?
hrothgar
Blue Club is a canape system. Holding a 4 card major and an equal length or longer minor, opener will typically open in his major. As a result, a 1D opening tends to deny a 4 card major UNLESS opener has a canape reverse (4+ Diamonds and 5+ cards in the major with maximum values) Accordingly, responder will often suppress a 4 card major with a balanced hand, prefering to immediately bid 1NT and minimize the information availabel to the defense.
