JanM
I liked Peter Weichsel's decision to pass with this hand - too much downside, too little upside to bidding.
Apollo81
Because this is WvR you can pass and get probably 200 which will be a great score if game doesnt make and wont be a disaster if it does. If this was equal or unfavorable I would bid 5♣.
benlessard
Its not a monster hand but still strong enough to X again, over 4H ill pull to 4S. If partner have 2D he will pass quite often and if hes got 1 then game has a fair chance.
whereagles
Peter Weischel passed? Well, I just can't do it. 4NT.
skjaeran
At IMPs and these colours... I won't go so far as to say passing is automatic - it can be very wrong on occasion, but I think it's a BIG long time winner.
gwnn
I can see how passing can be a good idea, but I'm not wise enough to pass it out. Ask me again in 15 years or so. Until then, whenever I hold 24 hcp, I will not let opps play in an undoubled partial, whatever form of scoring, vulnerability, level of opponents, state of the match. X. mr1303
Double and pull 4H to 5C. Is there any reason partner can't have a a card or 2? 3rd seat pre-empt and a strictly NF raise hardly promises the world, even at unfavourable vul
