It's entirely possible that 5♠ is a great contract for our side2. With kind regardsMarlowe maybe there is a correlation between this bid and this result? More serious, my expected result of a 5 Spade bid would be -1 or 2 in 5, 6 or 7 Spade. Double unless pure penalties should tell partner that you think the hand belongs to our side. I don't think you can know that with minimum values and no fit for partner and no knowledge of whether partner has a fit for our suit.
