Does this exist?

yes because 3 directly would be constructive, this is a destructive hand that was short of bidding 3/4 before. See the recent appeal hand :P

Exactly.

Both 3 and 4 are constructive on the previous round so this is a weak distributional hand.

No, this auction does not exists.

And there is at least one big difference to the apeals

hand.

One may or may not pass over a 3H bid with

a weak responding hand with spade support

for opener with the intention to bid 4S over 4H.

Because for what ever reasons, one does not

want to defend against a partial, but one is

prepared to defend against an enemy game.

Going slow will tell you, if they bid game with

the intention to make.

In the current auction, the opponents wanted

to play 3C nothing more.

The only sense I can make of 4H is, that the guy

wants to get douled, because he is sure he can

make 4H, ... it is a pity that opener reopened.

With kind regards

Marlowe

Not for me. Ill bid 3H almost everytime i would have raise 1H to 2H if RHO would have passed. 5 trumps & a stiff is enough to make a move even without hcp. This doesnt set any forcing pass so if partner X 4C he is on his own. If they bid 5C and partner X and they make it ill apologize.

PS with 5 trumps and 5332 shape ill pass and bid 3H after the X. So the 4H bid in the auction show 5 trumps and a stiff wich is a hand i would clearly bid 3H before the X
