Hi

After somebody come at table as a subset player in the middle of play he don’t know with cards have been played already. Such person could easy make mystiques, and often make.

I propose that person who came at the table as a sub could see all privies player card.

What u thought about this ?

Here is what I do both in tournments and in main playing room in this situation.

If only one or two tricks have been played, I inform the substitute of the cards played to date. If there are only one or two tricks left, I see if a claim can be made assuming normal play, and give the normal result. Ohterwise, in the open room, I ask for a redeal and in a tournment, I tell them to claim and I assign averages. This seems the fairest and fasted approach currently. This gets them on to the next hand if it needs to be played quickly, and if this was last hand of the round, gives the new partnership time to start forming their bidding agreeings.

So while the concept of showing previous tricks played might work, your substitute now has to stop and study the previous tricks slowing down what is already, no doubt, a slow table (it takes time to be sure a substitute is needed, and then a little while to find one, and get him logged on). I think in the long run, just telling them to claim all or the rest of the tricks and that AVERAGES will be assigned is the best appoach.

hi,

think very similar to ben in this matter , when possible infrm subs whats been played, i often find myself when in the middle of the hand adjusting immediatly(we tend to not sub once a round is completed aldoug exceptions on this rule are granted quit often), when the outcome is in fact forseeable when the replaced coud have finished i adjust according to outcome, if not with averages, in unclocked events same in first board while second woud been skipped if not finished in time, i understand the need of that in software however i trie everything to not let that happen, i feel every board has to be played just like in main, due to circomstance we sometimes have to assign average+-=, second board if not to many tricks been played, just 1,2 max 3 i inform the sub when things not that hectic or i ask someone at the table to give history of hand to new player.also ben , no need to ask for a claim, u can give averages when hand wasnt finished also, i do it this way and then inform the table why. noone complained sofar , most if not almost all players are very understanding with these situations

greetings marc
