rogerclee
I'm happy to bid 5♥ now, not willing to bid 6♥ over 5♠, and doubling 6♠ for a diamond lead, though a club lead is also reasonable.
655321
Dealer: West Vul: E/W Scoring: IMP ♠ T5 ♥ JT765432 ♦ [space] ♣ AK9 2♣* - 3♥ - 3♠ - 4♥ 4NT - ? Your're north, west opens strong 2♣, e/w are on their way to 6♠, your partner will lead if you let them play. What now (and later)?Depends on your agreements. 5♦ followed by passing 6♠, or, if you are sufficiently confident you and partner are on the same page you could try 5♣ followed by doubling 6♠ to request a ♦ lead. BTW, would never have overcalled just 3♥ here at favorable. 4♥ and 5♥ are both more enterprising alternatives.
Guest Jlall
I would just pass, I don't want to scare them away from bidding 6. When they bid 6 I will pound it.
whereagles
I was going to say something, but justin's reply devoided me totally B)
Fluffy
I wouldn't bid 3♥ against a strong opening with 8 cards.
cherdano
We are white vs red? I certainly would have bid 4♥, but anyway, it seems 3♥ is working out if I pass now...
jdonn
I would just pass, I don't want to scare them away from bidding 6. When they bid 6 I will pound it. BAM I would have bid 4 last round, but now I'm sure glad I didn't. I will also double 5 if that's where RHO signs off. And if he bids 6 I fully intend to tell him I would have doubled 5 :P
han
We are white vs red, how can you bid only 3H with an 8-card suit!?!?!?
frouu
[hv=d=w&v=e&n=st5hjt765432dcak9&w=sak98hakdakj862c6&e=sq7643h9dq43cqjt4&s=sj2hq8dt975c87532]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Neither table doubled 6♠ in the vugraph match. One table made 6♠+1 (south led ♥Q), other table 7♥X -4 for 12 IMPS. edit: I corrected the vulnerability Edited February 3, 2008 by frouu
pclayton
Agree. No reason to act now. Double looks clear. Pard has 2 chances to get it right.
han
The vulnerability switched btw.
