Your move?
whereagles
No. Pard is balancing and apparently he isn't even sure you understood 4♣ was specifically for the majors. Just pass. Besides, if you bid slam, it can go club ace, club ruff :)
Fluffy
Agree with Nuno, we are high enough.
cherdano
Pass.
han
I also pass. I think I would have bid 4H immediately.
Guest Jlall
Not close imo, pass. This michaels could be quite light since partner is under a lot of pressure if hes 5-5 in the majors. He might well just bid 4C to make sure to get to the right strain.

paulg
This was a hesitation problem that occurred against us. In real life partner thought for some time before bidding 4♥. This hand then raised to 5♥ and partner bid the slam, making an overtrick when he held ♠KJxxx ♥AKQxx ♦x ♣AQ (yes, our 3♣ opener as not a thing of beauty). There was no dispute over the hesitation but the Director ruled that the 5♥ bid was automatic and the table result stood. We did not appeal as it would not have materially affected the result, but we were not happy. We're still not happy but feel supported by the above comments  Paul
whereagles
5♥ automatic? That Director may know the laws but he sure can't play a card right :)
