rogerclee
IMPs, All Red ♠KJ87xx ♥J7xx ♦x ♣xx 1NT - 3♣ - ? 1NT is 15-17. Your methods here would be 4♥ xfer, all 3-level bids forcing, x is takeout-oriented.

kenrexford
As I assume that you are not sitting at the bridge table, checking these replies for guidance on what to do, I'll assume that the deal is over. So, perhaps a better question is "what next time?" A suggestion. I like to play that 1NT-3♣-X is Puppet Stayman, and all other calls are "as if Opener opened 2NT." This allows you to cover more situations adequately, IMO. Of course, a few tweakings might be in order in the event of club-stopper concerns, primary of which is using 3♠ initially as a stopper check (3NT yes; 4♣ no). Another obvious tweak is to have 1NT-3♣-X-P-3♦-P-3♥(spades)-P-3♠ not agree spades (bid 4♣+ for that), instead being a stopper-lacking punt. Similarly transfer super-accepts. fred
Try this: 3D=inv or better in hearts3H=inv or better in spades3S=forcing to game with diamonds If the overcall is 3D instead: 3H=inv or better in spades3S=game force with hearts Not sure if this is "best", but it is clearly better than "standard". pclayton
4♥ looks normal. I don't expect it to be a laydown.
