3NT lead...

Recommended Posts

A gives up on the misguess when it is Kxx on left, J9x with partner, Txx on right. But I still like it better than a low one.

You are right.... but maybe I get lucky and find declarer with stiff King B) imagine leading the Queen and dummy shows up with Jxx..., and declarer scores two Diam. tricks.... I would hate to see that happen B)

passing out 1 would have led to -1100...

RHO had 6 solid hearts, LHO wanted to double and spades with 6 spades with no ace.

So any minor suit ace would have lead to -660, any small minor card to -720 and hearts to -690.

That minus 1100 result should tell you something about opening such hands. 'Course I can't help but wonder what in the world your partner passed on to obtain that result?

What do you mean? Of course his partner passed the opps' takeout X with a 0 count. Apparently, the only tricks he'd have gotten were the aces (tough to believe, but it does happen).

Still, if it was -1100 on normal play, it would likely have been -1100 had they simply X'd everything you bid after the redouble. They let you off the hook.
