Green, you redoubled? Give them their 500 and go on to the next hand. I lead a small diamond. Make 'em guess on trick 1.

Guest Jlall
Seems like a good time to try queen of diamonds :)
bhall
Seems like a good time to try queen of diamonds :)Yay! A creative approach. Partner could well have 4 or 5 ♦ to the J, and I want to take some pressure off my minor suit holdings.

Guest Jlall
A♦ gives up on the misguess when it is Kxx on left, J9x with partner, Txx on right. But I still like it better than a low one.

You are right.... but maybe I get lucky and find declarer with stiff King B) imagine leading the Queen and dummy shows up with Jxx..., and declarer scores two Diam. tricks.... I would hate to see that happen B)
pclayton
I really don't want declarer to know the ♥ finesse is working. I'm leading a ♦. The Q hadn't occurred to me but I like it.
Richardrls
1. Why would you open this hand?2. Why would you redouble on this hand?3. Why would you lead a heart when you know you can not possiblly establish the heart suit for small card tricks? Surely you must open a diamond to attempt to establish that suit. gwnn
passing out 1♥ would have led to -1100... RHO had 6 solid hearts, LHO wanted to double and spades with 6 spades with no ace. So any minor suit ace would have lead to -660, any small minor card to -720 and hearts to -690.
Richardrls
That minus 1100 result should tell you something about opening such hands. 'Course I can't help but wonder what in the world your partner passed on to obtain that result?
jtfanclub
That minus 1100 result should tell you something about opening such hands. 'Course I can't help but wonder what in the world your partner passed on to obtain that result? What do you mean? Of course his partner passed the opps' takeout X with a 0 count. Apparently, the only tricks he'd have gotten were the aces (tough to believe, but it does happen). Still, if it was -1100 on normal play, it would likely have been -1100 had they simply X'd everything you bid after the redouble. They let you off the hook.
