Hilver
IMP'sN/NS red North has: S: A K T x x x H: A x D: J x x C: J x Bidding went: North South ----- ----- 1S* 2D** 2S*** 3C**** 3D 3H***** 3NT 4C 4D 5C ? * 11-15 HCP, 5+ spades ** Forcing to game, 5+ diamonds, could have longer clubs but definitely not 5 hearts *** 6+ spades, no 4 hearts **** At least 5-5 in the minors, no 2 spades ***** asks for stopper in hearts 3NT naturally promises a heart stopper. What is Your next bid sitting North and why? Thanks
firmit
Just a question - what would 1♠-2♣-2♠-3♦ be? You say 1♠-2♦ could have longer clubs. He is obviously making a slam-try with his 3♥ followed by 4♣. But I am not sure if I want to bid 6 of any minor. South non-4♥-cuebid suggests 2 small hearts - so maybe 0256/1255 - void-xx-AKxxx-KQxxxx and slam is not cold, but I don't know. I think I'll pass - srp. rogerclee
I have a better hand than partner has the right to expect (AK A in the majors guarantees no major losers if partner is 1255, though I suspect he is more likely to be 6-5 in the minors on this bidding). I think with a minimum hand with the minors, partner would not have bid this way (bidding 3H and pulling 3NT is a strong action to me). 5C instead of 5D also indicates slam interest. I bid 5H for now and don't have any problem passing 6D.
