mike777
pass hope I go plus :) If partner yells at me when we make 6 or 7 I will try the ..."thought you would double with that hand" defense
jdonn
I def move with this hand it's very strong. Whether or not we should bid 4S or 4N is up for debate, I guess I would go 4S and give partner an out unless he cues diamonds.

Wow...the old double or cuebid with a tough hand approach...yet again.....may be best.

rogerclee
4S. I have to act, and partner may be worried about spade control.
655321
4♠ seems clear. Too good to pass, and 4NT won't help much: if partner tells us 1 keycard is missing we have to just bid 6 which may have no play. After 4♠ sometimes partner can keycard, or else he can make a useful cuebid. We can bid 5♦ over 5♣, or 6♥ over 5♦.

Guest Jlall
We have to try. 4♠ seems good.
P_Marlowe
Pass. Partners 4H may be made with lotsof hands, and it is not even be certainthat 4H makes, even with the handI hold, although it would be unlucky. With kind regardsMarlowe
han
Over 4S partner will bid 5C. Now what?
ArtK78
There is no way that I would ever pass 4♥ here. If partner had opened the bidding with 1♥ I have a good game forcing hand. Partner makes a vulnerable overcall of 4♥ in direct seat over a first seat 3♠ bid and I am not going to move on this hand? I am not happy with 4♠ since the folow-up auction is going to be nebulous at best. My instincts tell me to bid 4NT. If we have all of the key cards, I will try for a grand. If we are off one, I will bid the small slam which may not be cold, but should have play. If we are off two key cards, I will bow to those who passed 4♥. A grand will make opposite AKJTxx of hearts, ♠Ax or Axx and the ♦K. Certainly well within the normal expectation for a 4♥ bid. A small will make on most 4♥ overcalls. I am sure that one can give partner a reasonable 4♥ call that is not safe at the 5 level, but one would have to work at it.
jdonn
Over 4S partner will bid 5C. Now what? 5d, i will pass 5h.
Cascade
4♠ heart raise with a spade control. Over 5♣ I bid 5♦ I am only invitational to slam so partner is going to have to make this decision. Although i can imagine it being hard for her as ace, ace, trump queen, spade shortage are a lot of key features.
pclayton
I hate you. 4♠ and not feeling good about it at all. Over 5♣, 5♦...
gnasher
Whilst I'd bid 4S too, I can't help remembering that I few days ago lots of people said they'd overcall 4H over 3S (albeit in the balancing seat) with 97 AT873 AQJ86 J. If partner has something similar to that - say xx A10xxx K KQxxx - we might find that 5H is too high.
han
I gave you my partner's hand. My hand was x AKJ97 xx KQJxx. My partner drove to slam and the diamond king was onside so all was well.
whereagles
Pard should be long in spades, so his 4♥ are trustworthy. I'll bid 4NT because pard might be worried of spade control (I don't think 4♠ NEED show spade control).
benlessard
I have controls in 3 suits so i simply ask for aces
