foo
Apriori, you rate to lose 1 ♦ + 1 ♠. So win the HA.Then take a ♠ hook; planning to take a 2nd one if it loses.
kfay
Obviously any ♠ finesse you take is going to win.... what the heck is RHO doubling on?
jtfanclub
Obviously any ♠ finesse you take is going to win.... what the heck is RHO doubling on? Unknown shortness, I would guess. I can't believe it was hearts, though, so it looks like his partner missed it.
MFA
I expect spades to be 0-5. I will start with a spade to the 7.4NT was a huge overbid.
ArtK78
This hand is not nearly as simple as the two responses make it out to be. Getting back and forth between the two hands is going to be a problem, especially if RHO has 4 or 5 spades. Win the first trick in dummy and play a spade towards your hand. If RHO plays low, put in the 10. If this holds and LHO follows, get out a small spade. Now you only need to get back to dummy one time to finesse the spades regardless of the spade break. There is a slight risk that RHO may be able to ruff a diamond, but I believe that it is still best to duck the second round of spades to cater to more likely lies of the cards. If the first round of spades loses to LHO, you are going to have to guess whether to play RHO for the remaining 4 spades. Also, there are significant entry problems. See below for a possible solution. If spades are 5-0, the hand becomes much more complicated. I am not going to get into too much detail, but you may need an extra entry to dummy. The way to create one is to overtake the ♣Q with the ♣K to play a second spade towards your hand. You should not play a diamond towards the Q in dummy until after you have knocked out RHO's spades, otherwise there is the threat of a diamond overruff. You may have a squeeze against LHO in hearts and clubs or a simple club finesse for your 11th trick.
kfay
So far Art's the only one who's given any thought to this. He's doing alright. Spades are 5-0 and you finessed the 10. Edit: MFA finessed the 7. So she/he is doing ok so far too. ReEdit: Looked at it again and I guess it can't be made unless ou finesse the 7/8 at T2. So it's really not very interesting. Sorry :D
