pclayton
Even though 1♣ may be short, its tough to get clubs into the action here, so I'd be happy with 1N.
helene_t
1NT. In second round 3♥ would be my choice under other circumstances, but vuln at IMPs, no thanks.
Fluffy
With my agreements I think 1NT would show a red 2 suiter, so pass would be my option.
Codo
With my agreements I think 1NT would show a red 2 suiter, so pass would be my option. obvious, How many people play 1 NT in 4. seat here as natural?I know some, but I don´t like it. Gerben42
By agreement after a short ♣, opps showing ♠ cancels ♣ as a real suit bid by opponents. I would just pass now, other bids meaning: Dbl: ♥1♠: TO of ♠1NT: 4♥ + longer minor
P_Marlowe
Hi, I would pass, but of course 1 NT is not bad.You have a nice hand, but partner will be brokemost of the time, unless, they want to play 1S. Lets wait and see, how the auction develops. Assuming, I did bid 1NT, I will pass 3D, wtp?I have told partner nearly my complete hand, theonly missing piece is the 3rd heart, and this missinginformation does not justify a 3H bid. With kind regardsMarlowe
Finch
Yes, I would bid 1NT. The bonus question is strange - I don't play transfers here, and feel quite strongly that it is wrong to. Partner is very likely to have a weak hand with diamonds and want to bid them. Anyway, having bid 1NT I now pass.
paulg
How many people play 1 NT in 4. seat here as natural?I know some, but I don´t like it.I would say it's becoming far more common in the expert game, where opening bids and responses are becoming so devalued. You still have double, cue bid of LHO's suit and 2NT to show two suiters. Paul
benlessard
If you cant overcall 1Nt with this might as well play 1Nt as 2 suit take-out or whatever. When responder doesnt show strenght it make sense to use 1Nt as 15-18 unknown suit overcall. (1C)---P-----(1H)----??? X= H1S take out of S1Nt --15-18 2 level overcall2C = C 8-142D = D 8-14 passing and 1Nt would be natural. After 3D its an easy pass.
