rogerclee
MP, White vs White ♠ Q8xx ♥ void ♦ K9xx ♣ A9xxx You pass as dealer and it proceeds: P - P - 1♥ - 1♠X - P - 2♣ - 2♥3♣ - P - P - 3♥? I took an action at the table which I am now convinced is wrong, but I'd like to hear some opinions. Partner has opened a 4-card major in third seat before, but even NV, he is expected to have five. cherdano
To me this is an absolutely clear pass. You have shown your hand, partner is in a much better situation to judge whether to double or to bid on or pass it out. You have neither unexpected offense nor defense. Partner will be able to guess you are short in hearts, and more importantly he will know whether that is useful on offense, or whether it is right to double them anyway by looking at his hearts. pclayton
I don't know that I've shown this much, but LHO has a lot of minor cards. We do not own this deal and pard may like to defend 3♥. It's a weird hand but I'd pass. Win the event on another board.
benlessard
WTP pass. If partner did psych then he will be happy they are not in game. If he didnt then he know your are void with probably 5C a a couple of spades.
Fluffy
I pass, what is the alternative?
jdeegan
 Pass. I can almost play this hand out in my head, and it doesn't usually come to ten tricks in clubs. Best guess is that partner is ?-5-?-4 with full opening high card strength. RHO figures to be 4-5-?-? or 4-6-?-? with decent high card strength. Of course, it could be a lot weirder. Let the opponents declare this semi-misfit goulash. If partner doubles, my plan is to pass and lead the ♣ ace.
