Gerben42
Doubling contracts in unclear situations. I think I need to improve on my judgment in situations like this one. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=sakj965hk5d9ck872]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 2♥ (Weak Two) Pass to me, I chose to bid 4♥ 4NT, Pass, 5♦ to me. What do you bid and what occupies me most is how to get more of these right. 655321
I also don't know what is right here. I like the 4♥ bid - Some days 4♥ is cold, other days it has no play. You have given the opponents a guess. I double now hoping they have guessed wrong.I am certainly not bidding at the 5 level on this hand, so the only choices are Pass or Double. On the plus side, when 4♥ was cold and 5♦ goes down, double protects our score.Always sad to get +150 when we were about to get 420.If 5♦ is making, double does not cost much more than Pass unless they send it back. Fluffy
you chances to make at the 5 level are poor, and your score if they make is poor as well so double looks best.

pclayton
I don't have a big problem with 4♥. It's a good 4 handed bid. In a bidding contest I might try 2♠. I'll whack 5♦. It might be difficult to ruff out my KC. I think we'll get it -2 or more way more often than I give up the extra 150 when it makes.
MFA
Pass - too little defense to double although down 1 is quite likely.4♥ was probably not a winner as things have developed (not that it matters much for my decision now).
inquiry
Double.. not happily however, but partner, even with a fair hand will not be able to double because our 4♥ bid could have been preemptive. We might only get 1♥ and 1♠ but there is an old saying, if they never make a double contract against you, you are not doubling often enough. In the long run, I think phil is right on this one, just hope it doesn't go redouble... :)
Winstonm
Don't mind the 4H bid - it might make. I would pass, now, though. There is no reason for me to think they are sacrificing or cannot make their bid.
dake50
Disciplined weak-2 promises 2-tops, so I expect 3 major suit tricks. X. Undisciplined weak-2, expect 2xS tricks and .. .. ?? P.
