han
The first day of the Kaplan regional I had a good time kibitzing Justin in a 2-session pair event (matchpoints). They had a great afternoon session but the evening session did not go as well. Justin went all out for the win, which made for some fun kibitzing. One round near the end gave these two spectacular hands: 1) xx AKJ10xxx - AKxx Pass pass 2D to you. Your call? 2) I don't remember the exact hands but this was the idea: Jxxx J9x Q10x AQx xx Kx AKJx KJ10xx 3NT from the south. Low heart to the 9, queen and king. Plan the play. pretzalz
1)3D -> 4H2) I cash out, no reason not to think 430 isn't already an average plus
pclayton
1. If I have total contempt for my opponents, I can see a 6♥ call. 2. JL posted this one himself. Most of us lemmings thought they he had received a favorable lead and should be content with 10 tricks.
jdonn
1) I bet some serious coin Justin bid 6♥ if he held this hand. 2) He already posted it. He said it's a weak field so I play a heart back for sure, simply because I think they will usually misdefend (usually by winning the heart and playing another one back.) The auction was 1NT opening, so they don't really know what's up with declarer's shape. But yes I was minority.
