kgr
Win the C, duck a C and ruff a C high. This way your AC won't be ruffed. Solution above: I am sure the pedants have seen this line too. Don't argue with a pedant; you can't win and you just get pissed off.RHO takes the C, returns S, you cross to hand with H A and ruff C.RHO wins you H or D and plays a 4th Club and you A is ruffed by LHO? True, 1 down, but only if you play carelessly. Must you win the spade return in the dummy? Roland right, blind spot.

Probably best to return ♣Q to avoid that LHO can win and return a ♠?
ASkolnick
The funny part is you already said the answer. You are afraid if the 2nd club gets ruffed. I don't know how to solve it if red suits are 7-0,6-0, but 6-1 clubs not a problem. Score 2 Clubs, 1 Club Ruff, AH, 6 spades. 1) Duck a club in both hands. a) If trump returned, win KS, ruff with AS, cross with hearts draw trump :) If diamond returned twice , ruff 2nd diamond, ruff with AS. c) If heart returned, win AH, ruff high with AS. draw trump. d) If club returned, ruff with AS, draw trump. If there is a red suit void, you are screwed. Too many books talk about having just 3 losers, how about counting your 10 winners? The way to make sure your AC does not get ruffed is by not playing it.
vuroth
I guess I fall into the pedant crowd. :( I couldn't see how to handle west being 5-1-6-1, and discarding his heart on my low club at trick 2. Granted, if east is 0-6-1-6, I'd expect him to open 1 heart, not 1 club, but sometimes with opponents I just can't tell.... So while the wording of the problem stymied me, I would have played the correct line at the table, if I'd thought about the hand long enough.
