rona_
She jumps on her left foot and turns clockwise...
Elianna
Me: clockwise. My mom: both.
blackshoe
both ways. But I can't tell how she changes feet (she's rotating one direction on her right foot, and the other on her left). If this was a real girl, though, I wouldn't be watching her feet. ;)
matmat
i see both. then again... it's a naked girl, does direction matter?
mike777
hmm not sure what the issue is, it seems I can easily make it go either direction.
Gerben42
I'm trying to force myself to see it move counter clockwise with no luck Same here. Are those who write "counterclockwise" using the same kind of clocks? My brain is not creative enough to interpret the other way around I guess. PassedOut
hmm not sure what the issue is, it seems I can easily make it go either direction. Fascinating test! Was very hard for me to see the clockwise movement at first, but now I can switch back and forth. Look at the extended leg and, when it is fully-extended, mentally reverse directions. The left leg becomes the right, or vice versa. My wife was a clockwise viewer all the way until I showed her the trick.
finally17
Just so you're aware, these "tricks" that a couple of people have commented on just don't work for everyone. I personally have to cut the top 2/3s of her body off (cover it with a window) to see any CCW movement at all outside of the shadows. Guess I'm just stubborn. han
I don't get it. How can you make sense of the shadow when you see her turning clockwise? Yes, obviously the shadow only makes sense if she turns counterclockwise. But before seeing the shadow I couldn't see both ways and after seeing the shadow (had to scroll down) I had to focus a lot on the shadow to see her turn CCW. Fluffy
I started with left leg on air (I think anti-clockwise) I couldn't beleive this very same image could rotate differently but I tried anyway and made it rolll the opposite direction, but I couldn't undestand how it was possible to have a different leg now on the air. After 5 minutes or so I could change directions at will by imagining them looking for a while at the top of the screen before pointing directly to the image. When I read about the shadow thing I came back and now have problems to keep the left leg on air, she switches direction now while I am looking (something she didn't do before). barmar
I'm similar to Al. It's mostly CCW, but when I tilted my head at the right time she switched direction, and then I had to try hard to get her back to the original direction. The switches seem to work best for me when her raised leg goes behind (or in front of?) her.
jocdelevat
if you save the picture and the played in the same time with the one in the link you'll see sommetimes they rotate in different direction.
jdonn
At first I saw counter-clockwise (where did this term anti-clockwise come from?) then I looked away, looked back, it was clockwise and I couldn't change it any more. By golly, I went to wiki"The opposite sense of rotation is counterclockwise (now chiefly North American English), or anticlockwise (the current British English term)." I learn something new every day.
sceptic
clockwise for about 5 mins, gave up trying to see it going anti clockwise now I try later it is anitclockwise and I can't get it to go clockwise Weird
gwnn
http://ofb.net/~whuang/imgs/spin/ For what it's worth, I think the bottom foot clearly gives away that the direction is clockwise.
Fugitiv
At first I thought it went clockwise end of story, but after examining it for about 15 minutes I have a theory. The girl only rotates 180 degrees and then this is replayed with her going the reverse direction. Its the shadow at the bottom which makes it appear she swivels the full 360. Now that I see the shadow at the bottom is just a distraction I can make her go whichever way I want even so that she goes back and forth with her back to me the whole time. For those who want to see it go counter clockwise the trick as already mentioned by Finally is to scroll down the page so that you can only see say one foot and the shadow, then imagine her going ccw and you'll see it. finally17
If you want to test your theory, you can look at each individual frame of a GIF file, which this is, by opening it with some picture editor that allows you to view layers, such as Adobe Photoshop or Paint.net (free software). luke warm
now when i look only at the shadow of her foot she will only turn 180 in one direction and reverse... when i look at the full figure (as it were) she turns
dicklont
http://ofb.net/~whuang/imgs/spin/ For what it's worth, I think the bottom foot clearly gives away that the direction is clockwise. I saw only clockwise at first, but gwnn's link help to see her turn the other way. Clockwise is still pretty dominant for me. Btw: she spins must faster in Firefox then in Explorer, isn't that funny? onoway
not sure what it means when you can easilly see her change direction and either not rotate at all but reverse at 180 degrees, or rotate for a few spins and then reverse and spin in opposite direction for a few before going back to the half rotations...haven't counted to see if there is a predictable pattern to this, for me, but it is very graceful
jikl
For me I can basically decide which way she spins. At first she went clockwise, the phone rang I answered it looked back and she was going the other way. Now I can flip between CW and ACW at will. slothy
When i was in Bangkok, the (really) naked dancing girls rotated in a clock-wise direction @ first. With every pop of the ping-pong ball there was an uncanny change in direction....
benlessard
Both. At first anti-clockwise but when Ive focus on the shadow she did go clockwise. To make switch watch the screen from a far distance and aproach. This is the way to make her switch. Also scroll the image until you only see the legs and no upper body this is guaranted to make her switch side. The anti-clock wise shadow is like a light near the floor. The clockwise shadow is with a normal light from above.
