JanM
Just what we need, another BBO Forum B). Let's see if I can try to explain the reasoning behind it. The idea came up during the USBF Junior Committee meeting in San Francisco. We were talking about the Youth events scheduled for next year - The WBF has events for players 21 and under, 26 and under and 28 and under, all scheduled for Beijing in the first 2 weeks of October, more or less. In addition there's the FISU event scheduled for September in Poland (that's for players who are students at a university and I think under 28, but maybe under 26) and the ACBL Youth NABC for players 19 and under, in Atlanta July 3-6, and probably other events I don't yet know about. We thought it would be useful to have a place people in those age groups could go to find partners and teammates, discuss hands they'd played in Junior practice events on BBO (coming up soon - watch this space :)), and anything else you might want to do. I'm going to start a thread on the 2008 USBF Junior trials in a moment. Hopefully I understand what we decided to do with that and then all of you can tell us how we could do better. So, any Juniors or people who are interested in Junior bridge, please join us here.

Echognome
Great idea Jan! I hope this forum works well and everyone convinces their junior friends to participate in it.
CSGibson
28 here for another 10 months, does that make me youthful enough, or am I aged out of this one?
JanM
No age limit for posting to this forum, just interest in youth bridge :). I'm afraid that you are too old to compete in the Youth events in Beijing though - you have to turn 28 in 2008 (been born in 1980 or later) in order to be eligible for the Mind Sports events. Sorry about that, but welcome to the forum.
Fluffy
I'll be 28, and my team has been planing about going for months, I really expect to be at Beijing. With a friend who plays Go :).
nickf
I think it's a good idea to spread the word about this sub-forum. I just bumped into an Aussie youth player who maintains a popular Australian Youth bridge website and he'll add a link. Andy Hung's website There's also a bucket of young people playing on the site, perhaps management can add a news item. nickfsydney
