One of the highlights of SF was getting to 6H with gnome against JLall in the single session swiss with KJ9xxx, K, QT, AQxx opp Ax, AQJTxx, x, KTxx. Both 6S and 6C fail but 6H is just about frigid.

Can you do it?

By the way, you'll get a 2D overcall in 4th seat if you start too low.

I don't think so.

I think the auction would be:

1 - 2

3 - 4

4 - 4NT

5 - 5 (Queen?)

6 (yes)

When opener shows K by cue bidding it responder might choose to play in hearts, but would that be wise?

How did you do it and more importantly: why?

well if you have the queen of trump you should show your lowest K so....

5H is the correct response to queen ask

Why 5? Will opener bid 5 without Q in your system? If not it seems better to bid 6 instead.

Indeed 5 was silly.

Now i can't stop under 6 so i might as well bid 6 since the odds are that the Queen is on board.

I showed the K already, or doesn't that matter?

I don't know what you showed why does that show K of h not ace of hearts for all opener knows or something...but if you did then 5spades showing K of spades...ya I wonder why queen ask too but I suppose you wanted to know about kings for some reason. :)

Ok, the obvious start is1-2. After that North has a difficult decision. I think I like 3 better than the say-nothing-bid of 2. After that he could raise 3, rebid 3 over 3, and pass 3N with mild comfort as he has shown extras.

After the 3 bid I think

1 2

3 4

4 (cue)

are pretty clear. Now responder sees a solid suit, a double fit, and a partial fit in third suit. I don't know whether I would get this right at the table but on paper this clearly seems to call for playing in the solid suit, i.e. I think opener has to insist on playing in hearts now. In fact he should just bid 6.
