Free
I'm not sure about the percentage line here. The auction went:1♠ - 2♠* - 4♠ - 4NTpass - 5♣ - pass - passpass(*) Michaels [hv=d=e&n=sxht8djtxxxxxcaxx&s=sxxhaq976dackxxxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] LHO leads ♠A, gets a middle card from his partner, and switches to ♥4. I played the T from dummy, covered with RHO's K and my Ace. Next was a ♠ ruff, followed by ♥8. RHO plays ♥3. How do you play the ♥s? Finesse or drop/3-3? skjaeran
Finesse through east. Playing east to be 5413.
inquiry
Finesse through east. Playing east to be 5413. If you are playing to make, is that good enough? I mean, WEST will ruff third heart and get a trump promotion for his partner, for down one (2C, 1S loser). As unlikely as it seems, you need to play for hearts to be 3-3, win ACE, ruff heart. Club ACE, Diamond to ACE, Club king.

If West is 5=2=3-3 and East 5=4=2=2, you need to finesse in hearts. Mind you, that doesn't give the opponents much for their bidding - but it is almost inconceivable that West would have shifted to a heart from three to the jack.
