bboflash on asus eeepc

Recommended Posts

just bought an asus eeepc. sort of ultra mini laptop,

the most 'en vogue' device, #1 in bestselling hardware on amazon.com. under 2 lbs (1kg) 399 usd wifi etc.

for those interested: http://eeepc.asus.com/en/ or better try google eeepc review.

from "BBO point of view", the device seems to have 2 problems

- it's preloaded with linux. but it has firefox and flash. Thank God (Fred and the team) for BBOFLASH

- screen resolution is 800x480.

Does'it work? Yeaaaa! With some limitations though, i have to study more. Thing is i have played 3-4 boards using BBOFLASH. The conversation buttons seems to be outside screen so i was 'mute'.

This is the first report from a happy grownup with a new toy ;-)

(written on that toy)

Mine just arrived. It seems to run some sort of Linux. I see that others have installed XP on it...

I see what you mean about the chat area. Lets see if we can get Fred to make it usable at this size.

Meanwhile, pressing alt+leftclick and moving the mouse around while holding them down will let you access a window that is larger than 800x480. Still very awkward but if you mess with it carefully then you can see the chat area, kinda, sorta, maybe.

I noticed that the 'J' in hand diagram mode looks much more like an I or an I. No idea what that's about yet.

Uday

For those interested - this unit is about to launch in three additional formats. Here in Canada the current version retails for $399.99. The new models will be $299.99, $349.99 and $499.99. The biggest differences are memory and warranty. There will also be a variety of colours available for some of the units. I happen to work for the only retailer in Canada that is carrying this little gem so if you want to know anything else feel free to ask.
