lorserker Posted November 27, 2007 Report Share Posted November 27, 2007 I think that 1♣ - 1♦ - 1♥ - 1♠ - PASS is better than 1NT. This because the most likely bid of partner over 1NT is pass, and in this case 1♠ is a better contract than 1NT. In case partner wouldn't have passed 1NT we shall get a stupid result, but making fewer tricks in 1NT when we could have made more in 1♠ is worse as this is what will probably occur over 1NT. Otherwise you should have just given partner the chance to bid after 1♣-1♦-1♠. He can even have some 5-card fit and 4♠ might make. I agree that you should upgrade this hand, so I'll just rebid 1NT now.. waiting for partner to bid that miraculous 2♥ transfer B). The K&R Hand Evaluator also shows this hand qualifies as a 19-21NT.
