1. 5 seems clear. 4 might actually be better if partner has 6, but that is a pretty wild shot because partner will read you for 3-card support.

2. 3. 2NT is a very strange bid here. I believe partner must have the minors for this. So I'm gonna do my best hedge and bid 3. I'll call it a 3-way bid. It's either asking for a heart stop, a transfer to spades, or asking partner to pick his better minor.

3. Pass

4. Pass

1) 5 not sure who is making what.

2) 3 which to me doesn't prevent PD from trying 3NT with a stop and may even get us to a 5-2 fit game if that is where we belong.

3) 1 this duckpond is a bare min opening for me due to the attached tens and the easy rebid of 2.

4) Pass this flat scattered stuff.

1) I don't think this is as easy as everyone else. 5D could easily be a phantom and if partner doesn't have a stiff club it could easily go for 500. If partner does have a stiff club he is likely to be 5431 and we probably have ample defense to beat 4H and no reason to think we are going to make 5D. All that said, we may have a vul game, or a good save, or even a double game swing (especially if partner has FOUR diamonds). I would bid 5D, but I don't expect it to be right a majority of the time.

2) You need some agreements here about what X by partner would have meant and what 2N means, absent discussion I'll assume natural and bid 3S.

3) I would open, the tens and the 5-4 in the majors and the vulnerability persuade me into it.

1) Pass my stiff k of heart suggest defense. Partner could have a doubleton clubs. This doesnt look at all like a double swing game and if it is partner might bid again. I stay away from Granville RED against W. If i bid my bid will be 4S not 5D. As 4th hand my 2D denies a S fit.

2) 3♠

3) 1♠

4) Pass

i dont see alternatives for the others 3 problems.

1= 4

2= 3 forcing

3= Pass.

♠QJT75 ♥QJT3 ♦AT ♣J6 has what 2 defensive tricks for a 1st or 2nd chair 1S?

Give me one less loser or 1 more defensive trick and I will open it 1S in 1st or 2nd chair.

4= Pass.

I have a =3343, 8 loser, 12 count.

(Do a little chart on the expected outcomes if Opener has 12-14 and Responder has 6-9.)
