1M-2M-4m

I'm not sure I follow the problem.

Suppose a specific auction start:

1-P-2-P-

3

I'm assuming, of course, that 3 is a natural GT, possibly a slam try.

Responder, if accepting the game try, need not simply blast game. There are other options for strong Responders.

1. 3-level calls below 3 are reciprocal game tries OR anticipatory cues.

2. Responder can cue 3NT, a "super-acceptance" of the new suit (high cover count for 2, 4-card support for the second suit). This allows Opener to show the slam interest and refocus the slam strain with a 4 call, asking for the precise cover count; four of the agreed major showing bare super-acceptance, bidding the slam with maximum internal covers, bidding a side cue with maximum covers if this King is a cover.

3. Responder can raise the new suit with five-card support an great covers.

4. Responder can eventually cue at the four-level and add in Last Train, possibly.

5. Opener can bid Last Train and Serious 3NT.

If Responder shows a weak hand (declines), Opener still can cue, show serious interest (3NT), or use Last Train, as needed.

If Responder bids 3, Opener can actually make a delayed heart splinter, offering nuance differences from a straight 4 splinter (the former suggesting a diamond control, as the latter "needs" one).

What? You don't play that?

After a single raise of major suit, is opener's jump rebid in another suit splinter?

If that's splinter, how do you bid a hand with slam interest and good 2nd suit? I dont like such sequence: 1M-2M-3m-xx-4m.

Depends on what kind of trial bids you

play.

If you play short suit trial bids, 4m would

show either void (fairly low frequence) or a

real suit (which would be my preference),

because 3m would show shortage.

I play long suit, so the jump is per default a

splinter, which keeps the memory laod at a

minimum.

With kind regards

Marlowe
