joshs
You hold AQTxx AT K9xx AxImps, All WhiteStrong partner, but no established partnership. You open 1S in first chair.LHO bids 1NPartner x'sRHO bids 2DYou xLHO bids 3CPartner bids 4SRHO PassesNow what? 1S-1N-x-2Dx-3C-4S-P? LHO appears to have psyched (or maybe just a semi-bluff like a 13 count with 6 clubs). But that doesn't mean that partner has the missing points, and not either one of the opps.... Now what? If you care its a $5/Imp team game.
mikeh
I bid 5♣. Partner has more than a minimum since he could have bid 3♠, surely highly encouraging in this sequence, so I think he has a legitmate gf raise, altho not a huge hand. I also think he has a couple of clubs, but Kxxx KQxx Ax xxx is reasonable... slam isn't cold here, but I like my chances. And he may have a better hand. Your double of 2♦ might have been on Q10xx in the suit, with a tad less overall strength, so I think you have not yet told your story. 5♣ will get us out in 5♠ when he lacks the diamond Ace, which may still miss a slam, but at least I tried. Guest Jlall
I know mike will yell at me, but I will bid 4N. Partner has shown a GF hand with spades and I have this, I'm going to drive it.

I just think that driving to slam is a bit much.. .I will allow for us to get out in 5♠ if we are off the diamond Ace, but not otherwise. kenrexford
Curious -- was 2♦ natural or a transfer? If it showed hearts, 4NT seems obvious. If it was a transfer, I'm a tad more concerned.

Codo
Yes, lets disagree with him. 4 NTMy pd is looking at Kxxx, KQxx, xx,xxxand diamonds are 5-2 with the ace on my right. How do I explain my teammates, that we missed this great slam?
vang
I move. 4NT KC seems ok. probably a direct 6♠ also have some merits.

My partner held KJxx KQJx xxx xx and I went down even when diamonds were 4-2 with the A on my right :P At the other table, they cued 5♣ and stopped in 5♠. I guess they were just lucky.
