gwnn
Red/White MP partner deals and opens 1♦, 0+♦, 10-14 hcp, two/three suited hand, no 5cM.RHO bids 2♣. You hold T87xxxAJxQJxxvoid What would you bid? 2♠ is forcing, other agreements are standard.

Guest Jlall
2S for sure, we have a void in their suit and a 6 card suit and must prepare for a competitive auction, get fits in early, blah blah, I feel like a broken record :) Just bid your suits when you have a void in their suit on this auction and worry about things like 10+ points later. sceptic
not quite sure why 2 spades is a gross overbid?
Guest Jlall
It's a 2S bid even without the red jacks.
keylime
2♠, and not a thought more. The void and six card suit upgrades nicely.

gwnn
don't worry everyone, the pass was my vote:P I know I suck, but I really passed this one, and pd obviously passed. I can't remember his exact hand, but it was along the lines of a 4144 11 count I think where spades make 10 or 11 tricks and ♣'s are hard to be held to 8 tricks. han
So what's your call next time you have a similar hand Csaba?
gwnn
pass, because it's bound to work some day ?
Codo
I voted pass, so you are not allone :lol:At the table I had choosen 2 ♠, this hands seems to fit great, who cares about HCPs.And surely pass will work some day. Give pd a 1444 and lho AKQxx of spades. We all bite the dust. You will stand tall.
helene_t
Or a 1435 10-count which is possible in this system. Still I think passing with a void in opps' suit when the board is likely to belong to us, is not good. If p has no spade support we will end in a non-ridicolous 3♦ often, I think. joker_gib
If I bid, I bid 2♠ which seems the most reasonnable action.
P_Marlowe
X, what else? We may discuss 2S if it is non forcing, butsince it is forcing, no-way I bid 2S, I would rather pass.Calling this suit a 6 carder is ... P_Marlowe
<snip>Just bid your suits when you have a void in their suit on this auction and worry about things like 10+ points later. I am not worried about points, my main concernis suit quality. With kind regardsMarlowe
Gerben42
I bid 2♠ now and try to get partner to change to a different system ASAP.
mcphee
I can see nothing to make me want to not bid 2S. I have an offensive hand type, it is very possible partner could, 1: pass a neg dble, 2: bid 2H leaving me poorly placed as I can never really get the potential of my hand across next. Sometimes partners raise S, how bad can that be?
skjaeran
Playing standard I'd have to overbid 2♠ here. With one of my regulars we play transfers here and have an easy 2♥. :)
