Norway system

Recommended Posts

According to my simplistic deal script (assuming 12-19 hcp 1H openings and 15-17 1N), the average number of heart is 5.21, the odds of having four hearts given the 1H opening is 13.8%, and the odds a hand is opened 1H in first seat is 5.9%.

Thanks. Would it be easy to work out

Average no. of for 1 opening? (3 only when 4-3-3-3) for Norwegian methods?

Possible to get the figures of std american methods?

no. of for 1 opening? ;)

Yes it would be easy :)

Hahaha, good one.

I imagine the 5.9% means that 5.9% of all opening hands are opened 1H in this system.

No, I meant with 5.9% of all hands will you open 1H in 1st seat, with the remaining 94% you will choose another bid or pass.

Both Helgemo-Helness and Brogeland-Sælensminde play 1M-1NT as non-forcing. Same treatment after both majors.

Is 2over1 GF? ;)

For Helgemo-Helness I'm unsure - their CC don't tell. They used to play 2/1 as F1 only. Brogeland-Sælensminde play 2/1 as GF unless responder rebids his suit, which is invitiational.

Grateful if you could post the answers. How often 1 provides only 3 for Norwegian / American methods ...
