Mr. Dodgy
:D Thanks K! http://www.qldbridge.com/titles/display.php?code=grprsdhttp://www.qldbridge.com/titles/display.php?code=qnovpr The next state title up for grabs is the Individual, on the 16th December - I'll keep you posted here LOL. I'm in a bit of a quandary, actually...I'm increasingly unsure whether I should consider myself 'Intermediate' or 'Advanced'? BBO guidelines state: Private This indicates you do not wish a skill level to be displayed when people view your profile information. Novice Someone who recently learnt to play bridge Beginner Someone who has played bridge for less than one year Intermediate Someone who is comparable in skill to most other members of Bridge Base Online Advanced Someone who has been consistently successful in clubs or minor tournaments Expert Someone who as enjoyed success in major national tournaments World Class Someone who has represented their country in World Championships "Comparable in skill to most other members" is a rather vague term. I doubt that most other members can claim to be the current holder of 2 State titles (even at a 'restricted' level), yet in general I find the tournaments on BBO quite tough. But can I really say that I am "consistently successful in clubs or minor tournaments"? FWIW we also won the C-grade teams title at the Coffs Harbour SuperCongress a few months ago, and one or two other decent results in the last 9 months or so. Please weigh in. Personal impressions of my standard from those who have played with/against me are welcomed.
helene_t
Justin, there is a solution to this problem, coined by Wayne (Sceptic): Chose "Intermediate" and add a note "I'm better than most experts here". Anyway, congrats with your victory, may many others follow :D
