cnszsun
If west hand is 5-1-4-3, it seems there is a perfect double squeeze , ruff one ♠ in hand, finesse west's trump, cash all dummy's trump winners, setup a double squeeze(♣6, ♥T,♠J as B, R, L threat), but i've found a flaw here, you don't have chance to cash ♥K before clear west's trump, so squeeze will not work.So i have to suppose west has only 3 trumps, then i can ruff 2 ♠s in my hand,or west hand is 6-1-4-2, there is one simple squeeze against east in ♣ and ♥. From bidding and the first several tricks played, i don't know which one is more reasonable.
jjsb
a hand i will probably go down in theory , ok so if west is 5 1 3 4 or 5 1 4 3 i will not win . so i think i should find a position and chosoe between something like 6 1 4 2 or 6 1 3 3 it would be fun to loose if east is 10x in D by giving him his 10 od !D :) so i think i will play for an hand like Kxxxxx x Kxx Jxx . i have a doubt that west will not bid before with 6142 distribution and the switch of small C give me the impression he's not doubleton regardssyl
inquiry
Glad no one threw stones at my creative 3♦ bid. Bidding this 3 card suits at the three level "naturally" seemed clear to me because I don't expect real ♥ support on this auction, and partner has at most 3♠... raising to game was a brave type move, we were only ones in 5♦'s. Now to the play. Unlucky the ♥ ruff at trick two. Now you have to avoid anymore losers. So, you are going to have to play WEST for ♦Kxx originally. It is actually worse than this, [DI}Kxx is not good enough, you have to play him for ♦KTx. The winning line is to win the ♣ return and cash the ♠ACE immediately. See it? You are going to ruff 2♠ in your hand and win 5♦, 1♠ 2♠ ruffs. 1♥ and 2♣. To get all your ♠ ruffs in you must unblock the ♠ before eating up an entry to dummy. The play, win ♣, ♠A, ♦hook, ♠ ruff, ♥--- to ruff in dummy. Here is why you need ♦KTx instead of ♦Kxx. West will ruff this with the ♦King. If you then overruff, and ruff a ♠ you have a ♦ loser. You can still recover if WEST is ♦Kxx if he also holds the ♠KQ and any four clubs on a squeeze...but the easiest chance is to score two ruffs in you hand.
