XX would be nice.

I know that many would advocate 1 NT here which is right about shape and strength. With a strong hand, pd can ask for a stopper if he is interessted in 3 NT.

If you don´t feal combftable with that solution, try 2 Club.

Playing transfer advances after a takeout double, I bid 2 - a good raise to 2. 2 directly would be a weak raise.

[EDIT: Sorry - misread the problem. Ignore this]

3 for lack of anything better. Right on values, wrong on shape. Closest to accurately describing my values.

2 can't be right since I would bid that on xxx xx xxx xxxxx

2, admittedly could be missing game is partner is on the maximum of hands that wouldn't bid again (although color me suspicious, but doesn't this look like a hand that might have the strength for game but not make any game? I'm thinking of hands for partner like Ax AKxx Kxxx Qxx) I would try to never jump in a minor suit such as this one in a 3334 hand. If I get another chance then of course I'm not done bidding.

I won't be jumping with this distribution for sure. So it's got to be 1NT or 2. I think 2 will give me another chance (I'll double next if possible) whereas 1NT might defenitely give me a headache next time around.

huh? What's wrong with 1NT?

If pard passes, it probably has a play for.

If he moves over this, you have an easy 2/3 expressing doubt on the stopper.

If LHO bids 2 you have an easy dbl to show a max.

RHO is probably broke and LHO probably have a 6-bagger. If partner's got a singleton spade he'll expect wasted values if I bid 1NT. We might easily miss a good partscore or game if I bid 1NT.

And no, I don't expect the auction to end here.

If pard is min with a singleton, either RHO would have bid already or LHO is loaded and ain't gonna pass 1NT.

Anyway, it is precisely because you don't expect the auction to end here that you should make a bid that shows pretty much what you have.

Precisely!

That's why I bid 2 now and follow up with a double later.

Partner will know I've got a balanced hand with 4c, no stopper and 9-10 hcp. wtp? B)

I was thinking if doubling 2 later was a good idea or not, first, there is a point for a penalty double once we 'found' a fit, but most importantly, partner is likelly to have no response over this given that he failed to raise to 3, we are likelly to end up playing at the 3 level with 7 trumps.

I am also a 2 bidder, any likelly hand that doesn't bid over 2 makes no game. 1NT has a point though.
