Matchpoint lead

Vs strong field -- for sure as I have painfully been taught to go passive.

In random field I think . The may be ok against 3nt but feels too panicky against 2NT. Yes, partner is likely to return whatever I lead so the 's may get forgotten if I don't lead them. But most likely it just costs a trick or two.

Top H.

Close. Second choice for me is spade but I suspect the majority will choose a heart lead. Therefore stays with the flock for now.

I do, however, have mostly bad experiences with leading away from AKx vs NT-contracts (AKxx of course much better) and do try to find an alternative whenever in this situation. Maybe I should change my lead...

I thought it was close between spades and hearts as well, the ace of hearts was the winner on this hand (you can cash 4 hearts and 2 clubs, on a passive lead they can cash both pointed suits).

Whenever I make a lead that is different than the other posters, I have a series of reactions.

1. Mock the other posters for their ignorance;

2. Become angry at myself for blowing the problem;

3. Acquiescence;

4. Acknowledgement that I don't know everything about the game, and that I have become a better player through the process.

There I feel much better :)

As far as Han's question, I would say aggressive leads are warranted against 2N and 4N (especially 4N). Against 1N and 3N, its situational. If they have a trick source, we need to attack, but if the hands are balanced, passive wins the day.
