If you play full Bergen this is a 4d raise.

 

 

5 trumps, 1 to 1.5 outside tricks, less than ten hcp.

yes, and some play 3N as a good 1-4 raise, probably if this was in use in this particular case it would not be a bidding problem and OP wants to know what our best judgement call is rather than our best gadget for the hand.

Exactly. This is the perfect hand for 3NT - good raise to 4.

 

Not playing this, I would probably make a mixed raise (3 the way I play it) and then raise to 4 if partner bids 3. If partner bids 4 over the mixed raise, I pass and hope that I don't have too much.

Gonzalo, if there's something the other thread showed me, is that such a tactics of "1NT + supp later" is a loser in the long run. I know where it comes from, but I'm now convinced it is theoretically UNSOUND.

I don't claim it to be the best at all, but matmat asked what's your raise, and nowadys it still is forcing NT :blink:
