One more tale

Sometimes if you play a low heart in tempo it works amazingly well here.

LHO holding Qx/Qxx will "know" not to put up the queen, since clearly your hearts are Axxxx and you are planning to enter dummy later on spades (with your only entry) to finesse...

I agree with the_hog about the best legitimate line though.

normal lead, normal contract, you just wanna make the most number of tricks possible.

a diamond from hand at trick 2 makes wen A at lef tand Q at the right (and they don't ruff a diamond).

AK is a big disaster when 4-1, but so is to the king when A offside and 4-1.

AK seems better after all.

There are two legitimate plays:

1. AK. The play works anytime the Q is doubleton. If its stiff, I think I lose control of the hand, since they can tap me with 2 diamond entries. Even if I can guess a doubleton diamond ace, I might lose control of the hand.

2. at T2. This wins if LHO has the A and RHO has the Q.

I believe both lines have problems with 4-1 diamonds as well. From a % point, I think they are both 25% or so.

I tried 2. LHO was legitimately forked with A9x. He ducked, I won, cashed the AK, etc.. Making 5.

The player at the other table tried the swindle of a low heart at T2. This was not a great success.

I love these types of swindles, but if you are listening to the bidding, its a silly play. If I have 2 spades, why aren't I using my entries for heart hooks? If I have one spade, why aren't I taking a club pitch immediately?
