Aberlour10
My P opened 1c in first seat, opponent bid 1s, and me.... 2h with following hand: [hv=s=sahj8654dqj83c943]133|100|[/hv] Is this 2h bid alertable? If yes, in which standards? ( country, bridge organisations etc) Robert
matmat
if you have an agreement that your bid is non-forcing, then it is alertable in ACBL-land, i believe.

NFB..negative free bid is alertable, one would think. Anyhow, why not a negative X with the hand shown here ? 4♦ and 5 weak ♥ and non forcing values ? .. neilkaz .. skjaeran
if you have an agreement that your bid is non-forcing, then it is alertable in ACBL-land, i believe. As it is in Norway, and in most countries I'd think.
ralph23
If you and your partner have agreed to play NFB's, then your partner should alert this 2♥ heart bid as a non-forcing negative free bid in ACBL land. If on the other hand (as I suspect) you do not have a partnership agreement to play NFB's, but just took a hankering to make a dramatic overbid with this hand, then no, that's not alertable. You just bid out of system in that case, and your partner (along with everyone else at the table) will be fooled. Alertability, in effect, is defined not by what you actually bid, but by what your partnership agreement says that your bids mean. So the real answer to your question is, We can't tell. It depends on what your agreement is.
Aberlour10
Thanks all for the answers. I had any agreement with my P, I liked my singelton ace in opps suit so I bid it.... Robert
helene_t
NFB's are not alertable in the Netherlands.

You are allowed to deviate from your agreements, psyche and misbid without telling your ops.
