Tough situation, since we therefore don't really know what anything means :P 3N is silly...just where are our tricks.. heck even if partner has AKJxxx in hearts, we still need more luck to make 3N than 4♥ on most layouts. And when his hearts are at all less than that, we rate to have very little play. So in this guessing game, 4♥ is the logical call. The very conservative view is partner with AKxxxx in hearts for 5 tricks. This may split 3-3, or 4-2 with partner having a surprise J or 10. Then we look at diamonds for 2. True enough. However, if partner has a third diamond, we have a 25% shot at no diamond losers if he has the 10. Losing both black finesses, if they must be taken, if only 25%. So, 75% of the time we get to nine tricks with all Hell breaking loose in trumps and diamonds. If the club hook works or not, we have plenty of transportation to possibly establish clubs for spade and/or diamond pitches. Passing seems way conservative.
