matmat
[hv=d=s&v=e&s=sqj98732h643dcajt]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] you deal and pick this hand up early in the second half of a regional swiss. you were up about 15 imps up at the half. your p, to put it mildly, is crazy, you're not quite sure why you're playing with him. what is your call? Mbodell
3♠ for me.
gwnn
I think 2♠ is very badI think pass is worse3♠ is ok-ish but a little wimpy and sometimes buries the hand when 4♥ is cold. Which leaves 1 and 4♠. Both are ok i think but 4♠ is a little crazy cause of the poor suit quality (and see the arguments vs 3♠). And if pd is crazy, you shouldn't encourage his personality unraveling. For example, if you open 4♠ now, he subsequently might bid on the 4 level with a random flat 4 count. mr1303
4S is too much with this dodgy suit, so 3S it is.
whereagles
If pard is nuts, 4♠ is risky. 3♠ is safer, though if he's REALLY nuts, 2♠ might be your best bet.. lol.
Guest Jlall
I'd open 4 at these colors.
han
Yes, white against red I'd open this 4S.
MickyB
4♠ at these conditions, probably 3♠ at a different vul or in second seat.
skjaeran
Agree with 4♠ 1st seat NV.
Fluffy
I don't have strong opinion of 3 over 4, I'd open just 3 against a pair weaker than mine.
whereagles
guys, if pard is nuts, he might go berzerk over 4♠ and bid to a hopeless 6... B)
