From Shanghai I'll naturally be watching Norway when they're broadcast on BBO.

I was planning to get out of bed just before 5 this morning to comment the Norway-Sweden match. But due to change in broadcast schedule I could sleep instead. I'd have preferred to watch our guys slaughter our swedish neighbours though. :D

Most of the matches will be during our night or in my work time, so I'll not be watching very much during the round robin I'm afraid. Hopefully there will be reasons for watching more the 2nd week and let work be work....

Sometimes I hop around. Especially if I just watched the interesting board x and it is about to be played at the other table.

Last nite I came on just as the BB was starting. The first table up promised commentary in Chinese. This provoked my "How they gonna do that" curiosity so I stuck around for a while. A lot of odd symbols appeared on the screen.

I think the commentators are terrific. Sometimes, and in some combinations, they are exceptionally fine. That can influence my choice.

On occasion (not often in my case) I know the participants. Sure, I watch them.

Often, but not always, I prefer to watch players with a fairly natural system.

Being able to watch players from many different countries is a great plus. I try to take advantage of this.

Sometimes I am glued to the monitor, watching every play and comment. Other times I have snacks and a bottle of wine at hand. This can influence my choice of channel.

On television, the choices are often between bad and awful. On BBO VuGraph, the choices are frequently between good and excellent. What a gift!

There are a few pairs that I like watching, but I first pick a match to watch (usually one with evenly skilled teams) and try to pick the table that's behind (that has results from the other room). I've noticed that many people pick that way, as the slower room tends to have more kibbitzers.
