cherdano
I'm surprised so many say that we're in an FP situation after 4♥-(4♠). I thought this was a crystal clear non-force. There was only one poster who said 4H creates a FP. Yes he posted many times in this thread but that doesn't make him many posters. (Did I miss anyone else.) Quantumcat
And I guess 4♦ then 5♦ also shows some tolerance for hearts, so partner could correct to 5♥ if he had like a 6 card solid suit and void in diamonds?
helene_t
And I guess 4♦ then 5♦ also shows some tolerance for hearts, so partner could correct to 5♥ if he had like a 6 card solid suit and void in diamonds? Hmmmm ..... not sure about that. There was a problem hand in the IMP Forum (like MSC but in Dutch) with a hand like (loose memory):AKQJxxx-xxx-AJx-xand the bidding goes1♣-(3♥)-? The panel was divided between 3♠ and 4♠. The 4♠ bidders concented that the hand was too strong for 4♠ but were worried that p would get the impression of a more flexible hand if they started with 3♠. So this is probably something you would need to discuss with p.
neilkaz
4♥ for now, 5♦ over 4♠. I agree with your simple and clear cut approach. I am also pulling a penalty double of 4♠ to 5♦ since I won't likely add a trick on defence and we make make a slam. .. neilkaz ..
