kenrexford
I'd bid 2♣. Why? Because I have a M.F. lot of them. More precisely, though. Not good enough for 3♣, too good to pass.

jdonn
2♣. I would bid 3 if the king was in hearts instead of spades.

Ken it seems that the whole world is agreeing with you tonite. With that stiff in the opener's suit this "ain't good nuf" for me to jump to 3♣ either. One last vodka b4 bed .. neilkaz .. Codo
Opposite myself I had been in 2 club too. I can just repeat what others had said before: With te guarded king of spade or this honour in another suit, 3 Club or 3 NT are better, but this hand is just a normal 2 Club bid. And I would never make a game try opposite a balancing bid with a 8 HCP 4423 hand. Everything fits perfect, bad luck, game missed next board. P_Marlowe
2C. The hand is too weak to bid 3C, move the King of spades to hearts, than 3C would probably be ok. With kind regardsMarlowe
P_Marlowe
I think partner owes you a raise. No. Partner should subtract a King, because I did bid in the passout seat, and if youtake away the King Daimonds, you donthave a hand worth a raise. gwnn
1326 is the year of birth of Pope Gregory XII. 1327 is a bridge distribution.
Fluffy
MY first though was for 3♣, but devuating ♠K is in order, Both players have maximum values for their bids (or no bids), and this often leads to missed games.

With kind regardsMarlowe IBTD.Take away the ♦K and it's a clear raise of a direct seat 2♣ overcall IMO.So this is a clear raise of a balancing 2♣ overcall to me. But that won't get us to 3NT anyway, since I'd have a clear pass as south. We still go +130.
whereagles
I would have bid 3♣. I consider this hand good enough for that.
Codo
♠ AT64 ♥ JT43 ♦ 65 ♣ T85 it's a clear raise of a direct seat 2♣ overcall IMO?.? Is this a clear raise because of it trick taking potential, its overall strength or is it a preemptive raise because fo the great fit and shape? :) Sorry but this looks like a clear pass to me after(1♦) 2 ♣ (pass) .... It's a clear raise because of its trick taking potential (ace, doubleton, 3 trumps) and overall strenght. vs a maximum overcall we might have a game, vs a minimum overcall it might preempt the opponents. Of course this is a style question. But I'd be very surprised if a partner of mine passed with that hand. My partners would likewise be surprised if I passed.
