DWM
[hv=d=w&v=n&n=sak82ha643dcat972&s=sqjt4hq82d542c865]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] At our table bidding went (P) - 1♣ - (2♦) - (P)(3♦) passed out 2♦ was opening hand we lost 12 imps on this one. Should we be bidding differently, if so how?
hrothgar
North has a Diamond void, three bullets, and a King. He should take action after 3♦ I'd bid 3♠, intending to bid 4♥ over 3N (I recognize that I am unilaterally forcing to the three level if not game opposite a partner who couldn't scape up any kind of bid, but I love this hand on offense and really won't get excited if I double and partner converts. Its entirely possible that double would work much better in the long run)
helene_t
North has to do something but it is not clear what. I think I would double. South would probably bid 3♠ which North will probably pass.
Codo
Clear cut X with the north hand. IF you don´t play neg. doubles, he should bid his spades, followed by his Hearts if necessary.
pclayton
North needs to double 3D. Its much tougher over a IJO but thats life. Im guessing you'll settle in 3S.

ralph23
X sure seems right. Let partner pick the strain.
han
North should double.
jdonn
How could north do anything but double?
SoTired
North cannot pass 3D with 1st round control in all 4 suits plus a king. If North plans on bidding 4M over a 3M response to a X, then I would not want my partner deciding to pass out 3DX with a weak hand and ♦Jxxx. So I bid 4D with the North hand and force my partner to make a choice.
