pclayton
Textbook weak 2 for me.
mike777
Prefer to have a partnership agreement for wk two bids. Whatever works for you is fine, I prefer the old 4-3-2 style which means6 playing tricks at unfav5 playing tricks at equal4 playing tricks at fav vul. That means a clear pass with this hand. ralph23
2♥ here but I admit that this sometimes irritates partner at these colors.

How do you rate 2♥ ?pass ? When I'm playing Precision, this is a clear 2♥ bid. When I'm playing SAYC, it's however my partner wants to play it. In most cases, that would be a pass. goobers
Why is this not a textbook weak 2? I have 6 hearts to 3 of the top 5 honors. I don't even have a 4 card major or any voids, if you're into that kind of stuff.

jdonn
The rules taught to beginners about what makes a weak 2 bid show this hand to be perfect. It is only with experience that players should learn it is clearly wrong in this seat/vul due to lack of playing strength.
goobers
So if you were 6331 instead, would you bid it?
pclayton
Well, the suit is textbook; the rest of the hand does suck.
jocdelevat
me as b/i player i learned weak 2 bid should have a bit of strength in one of the other 3 suits(like an ace or a king xx or a void).
jdonn
So if you were 6331 instead, would you bid it? Yes, but not even then if the ten of hearts was the deuce. That's how close it is for me.

That seems a little odd to me. KQJTxx xxx xxx x is a weak two at any form of scoring, vulnerability, state-of-the-match (could be a higher preempt at favorable).
