Plan your play. [/hv] Here is one I was kibitzing luis on. At his table, 4♥ wasn't bid, it would have been interesting to see the play. But at several tables, South declarered 4♥ on an auction similar to the one shown at one of the tables above. The opening lead was always the ♠K. How would you go about trying to come to 10 tricks? What is your strategy. Ben
Trpltrbl
Duck opening lead, win next one. Lead a High♦ and after any return, ruff a ♠ and finesse ♦ again. Should lose a ♠, ♥, ♦. Mike :o
the hog
Mike I think you are ignoring the fact that West almost certainly has both D hons. He did not lead a top C which virtually guarantees a C honor in the East hand. Count the points left.
inquiry
Actually Mike's solution is one of the ones that works, and in fact, is the line I would choose myself. West had a 15 hcp count (♠KQ, ♥K ♦K ♣A). It is necessary to either hook twice in ♦'s, or later, exit small from your own hand in ♦'s playing WEST for the unlikely doubleton ♦K or Q.
