Probably nobody makes 11 tricks, but still it pays to try, 5.

I am inclined to think you are closer to 12 tricks. Your rho bid 5C vulnerable - what cards do you think he is likely to have apart from good Cs? I'd say the D Ace and maybe the H King as well. 5H is a standout bid imo

12 tricks might be there or not, but I doubt bidding hearts will help us at all finding them.

I just don't see what good thing can happen to us for bidding hearts, everthing I think of is irrelevant or bad. Partner raising with 4 small hearts is probably horrible.

Gonzales, the reason I would 5H is not so much to try and find a slam, which I agree is a bit optimistic, (but not impossible), but rather so that pd has a fair idea of what to do over a possible 6C bid.

With your hand over the 5 club bidder and tons of defense, I wouldn't think it matters what partner does over 6 clubs - you double and set the thing at this vulnerability. I imagine that you are going to be able to give a defensive signal soon enough to be able to set the defense, so the only thing the heart bid does is help the other side evaluate their fit and defensive prospects more effectively.

Yeah actually Hog I agree with your bid but I much prefered your first reason to your second. We could easily have slam and I see no better way than 5 to look. But the point of helping partner over 6 seems meaningless to me since

1 - They are very unlikely to bid it (they will sacrifice at the 6 level after you were pushed to 5 of your major?), and

2 - I wouldn't want partner to bid 6 over that unless he had been planning to do it over my 5 anyway.

5 now.

That's the bid that most realistically can help partner to bid 6 IF that's where we belong.

In other circumstances (5-level, other vulnerability) I often will bid a side suit to help partner decide if opps bid once more. That doesn't apply here, where you can be quite sure they won't bid again, and where you'd always double them at the 6-level (unless partner bids slam over your 5).

Looking at Josh's post it seems we're on the same page here.

Not that I care much, but my name is Gonzalo, there a spannish surname famous for our president in the 80s-90s Felipe Gonzalez, but Gonzales doesn't exist here(maybe in south america)..

I don't want my partner to bid over 6 because I wanna play there.

And 5 is far from describing our hand, he will not have enough info to make a good decision towards slam (this is surely debatable, but I think it is this way).
