ochinko
Matchpoints, favorable. Opener is intermediate, partner - pickup expert, RHO - advanced. 1♥ - Pass - Pass - ? 4Q64Q8542AQ93
hrothgar
Ick... What's with these nasty balancing decisions today? This one seems very weird: Where are all the Spades? If partner has some values, why couldn't he introduce a Spade suit? It feels like LHO was planning to open 1♥ and then reverse into Spades, only his partner was nasty enough to pass. I'm not particularly thrilled to bid 2♦ on this weak a suit. I thought (briefly) about 1NT and then decided that this was a very bad idea. I'm passing. I think that Hearts will play worse for the opponents than Spades.I think that our best chance at a positive score is to hope that the miserable Spade break might cause a high level Spade contract to go down. Then again, it might not.
jtfanclub
It feels like LHO was planning to open 1♥ and then reverse into Spades, only his partner was nasty enough to pass. Makes sense to me. It also makes sense that if I bid now, they'll end up in 4 spades. Good news: Their spades will split 4-1 the bad way. Bad News: Odds are at least two of the queens are worthless. The other possibility is that partner has 5+ spades, but is so very, very weak that he couldn't overcall. In which case they have 3NT, and again my queens are badly placed. This looks a clear pass to me.
awm
I'm not really afraid of them making 4♠. It's probably our hand, and spades are breaking badly for them. It's quite possible (even likely) partner has something like a 4423 twelve-count, no reason LHO has to be on a huge hand for this bidding. On the other hand, we are white vs. red. It seems like hearts is not their best strain (they probably do have 8-9 spades between them and only 6-7 hearts unless LHO really does have all the missing points). Passing this out could net us +200 if partner has four hearts and a decent hand, whereas bidding will only get us a making partial (or even lead to us defending a making spade partial). I'll pass, but if it was all white I'd balance and hope it's our hand.

ochinko
LOL, I detested everything in my hand - lack of spades, bad intermediates, wasted values in hearts... So I passed. My partner said I should've bid 2♦ though. 1♥ made =, and we got only 31%. Here are all the hands:[hv=d=w&v=e&n=sq105hkjdaj763c754&w=sak2ha10983dk9ck62&e=sj98763h752d10cj108&s=s4hq64dq8542caq93]399|300|Scoring: MP[/hv]
skjaeran
Saying you should have bid 2♦ is resulting. Your pass was rather obvious.
Guest Jlall
definitely pass, you have heart length and spade shortness and very marginal values
